It began with a common interest in reggae and quickly developed into a blending of passion, intensity, and creativity. Each member contributes a different element of inspiration to the band’s original sound, which can be best described as dub-reggae with a rock backbone. Driving beats, wandering bass lines and layered melodica keep the crowd energized. The band boasts a large catalog of material from originals to classics allowing for shows that often last over three hours. The Seen Reds are a fan favorite in California and have shared the stage with acts such as Rebelution, Capelton, both Stephen and Ziggy Marley, Mr. Vegas and the Reggae Angels.
In November of this year The Seen Reds released their second full-length studio album entitled From a Seedling. This record follows up their well-received debut Leaf Dirt Mist and Cove and was written, recorded, and mixed entirely by the band at Lion’s Den studio in Redwood City, CA. From a Seedling continues the bass heavy dub, rock, and roots themes of Leaf Dirt Mist and Cove, with the addition of another layer of style supplied by their newest member – keyboardist Dmitri Kononov. The Seen Reds continue to create groundbreaking original music fusing their signature sound with old school reggae groundwork.
